At The Lakes Forest School, children have the unique opportunity to get up close and curious with one of nature’s most important creatures — bees! Through our beekeeping sessions, children learn how bees live, work, and support the world around them. From exploring a real hive (safely enclosed!) to spotting pollinators in the wild, we bring the fascinating world of bees to life. Our beekeepers will give live demonstrations on how honey is made.

Understanding the role bees play in pollination helps children appreciate how essential they are to the food we eat and the health of our planet. These hands-on experiences spark curiosity, nurture respect for the environment, and show children that even the smallest creatures can make a big difference. It’s learning that sticks — and sweetens — every adventure outdoors.
