Our woodland area is the heart of The Lakes Forest School — a vibrant, hands-on learning space where children of all ages can explore, create, and connect with the natural world. Schools are welcome to bring any year group, from curious Early Years learners (Nursery) to adventurous Primary School classes.

The space is packed with opportunity: den building, mud kitchens, bug hunts, natural art, tool use, and fire safety are just some of the exciting forest school activities waiting to be discovered.

Beyond the usual favourites, children can also learn about the lives of our resident hedgehogs, spot pollinators at work in our bee zone, and develop a deeper understanding of local wildlife. Whether it’s their first time in a woodland classroom or part of a regular outdoor learning routine, every visit is an invitation to explore, ask questions, and learn through doing.

It’s messy, muddy, imaginative fun — and the kind of learning that lasts a lifetime.
